These photos show our landscaping construction projects while they are being built in Edmonton and the surrounding area. The finished result is what everyone sees, but the work in between is what makes it last.

Most of what keeps a patio level or a retaining wall standing is hidden once the job is done. Here you can see the excavation, the compacted gravel base, drainage being installed and the first courses of block going down. Taking the time to get these steps right is what separates a project that holds up from one that shifts, sinks or cracks after a few seasons.

If you are comparing contractors, ask how they prepare the base and handle drainage. It is one of the best ways to tell how long the finished project will last.
